Art Centre saves Chester the Lobster!
Believe it not, the Chester Art Centre (along with the kids and staff at the Chester Area Family Resource Centre) is responsible for saving the life of Chester the Lobster, a massive 8 lb crustacean trapped by lobsterman Blaine Bond.
Russell Perry, former chair of the CAC, saw that Chester was being auctioned off for charity on our favorite website, ChesterNS.ca. Nudged by his children, who were convinced Chester was the lobster who lived under their wharf last summer, Russell threw caution and the economic crisis to the wind with a winning bid of $200. The money will be split between the CAC and CAFRC, and Chester was released back into the frigid waters of Chester harbour.
